If you are getting the prompt below when trying to generate an App Password for Prospect Reach in your Gmail account, continue reading the article.

A Gmail/Google App Password is essential to be able to send emails from your Prospect Reach account using Gmail SMTP. The App Password can be generated by starting through this link: https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords - The majority may encounter the prompt above (screenshot) upon accessing the link.

The fix for this problem can be considered simple. Refer to the steps below:

1. Turn on your Google account's 2-step verification by first going to your Google Account management page (you can go to Google.com, then click on your profile picture at the upper right corner of the page, then click on "Manage your Google Account"

Click on "Security" on the left side panel

Find and click on "2-Step Verification" to turn it on:

In this part, you only need to follow the instructions that will be provided by Google on how you can set up 2-step verification. 

2. Set up your App Password

After setting up your Google Account's 2-step Verification, you can now go back to this link to generate an App Password: https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords

Open up the "Select app" dropdown menu and select "Other (Custom Name)". 

Enter "Prospect Reach" (you can enter any name that you want), then click on the Generate button:

You now have your Prospect Reach App Password. 

3. Copy the App Password and use it as the Password in your Prospect Reach Gmail SMTP account.

Send a test email and it should be sent successfully. Congrats!
